Yangon (Chindwin) : Myanmar’s military junta has stopped model and actress Thandar Hlaing from leaving the country at the last minute at Yangon International Airport.

The model and her family are reportedly said to be planning to travel to Bangkok.

Miss Thandar Hlaing and some of her family members were stopped yesterday from on-boarding the plane of Myanmar National Airlines (MNA), BBC Burmese reported.

Later, it was learned that she was arrested and taken to Yekyiann interrogation camp.

In April, the actress was accused of an act of defamation of the State under Section 505 (a) of the Penal Code. 

Likewise, more than 120 celebrities have been arrested, and more than 100 remain in hiding after joining the anti-junta coup movement.

The stars range from directors, film actors, artists, and models who threw their unwavering support of the civil disobedience movement (CDM).
